The storage racks at MSU have Tripp-Lite SU6000RT3UHV UPSs. These are 6KVA models. One of the two PDU (power-strips) in the rack is fed from the UPS, each storage node has two power supplies with one fed from the UPS backed power and one fed with non-UPS backed power.
The UPS have a single battery pack and provide a few minutes runtime for the storage racks. Since the power in 1221 is also generator backed, a short runtime is sufficient for normally anticipated power issues.
The UPSs have the Tripp-Lite SNMP/Web network management card installed. SNMPWebCard.
Setup of SNMPWEB Card
Use serial console to assign static IP to management card. To get a prompt from most of MSU's cards, you need to physically unscrew and reseat the card then wait 10-20 seconds. What a pain.
Or could they be defined in ROCKS so that DHCP works?
The config file can be copied off via ftp. Need to do this and put files into SVN.
